[ Physics ] Open Question : If the density of silver is 10 cm3 and the density of the piece I have is is 6.24 cm3 how much silver do I?

have? What is the density of sterling silver? 92.5% of 10 cm3? Or is the fact that the density is less than 10cm3 mean what I have is not silver? How would i calculate how much silver content is in my piece? If another metal was added to make a silver alloy what would have a density of 6.24? I have scratched and filed into the silver piece I have, and cannot distinguish between layers, it looks to be all one metal. If silver was mixed with brass or copper I would be able to tell wouldnt I? Ive had silver plated jewelry before and it was easy to tell it was plated by scratching or filing it. But Im not sure what it would look like if it was alloyed with another white metal such as nickel. Do they alloy nickel and silver together? Did they in the early 1900's? Is silver alloy worth anything? Or how can you tell what percent is silver and what isnt? Do alloys mix completely and thats why I cant see layers like you can with silver plate? I did the other home test with an ice cube, and the whole piece was significantly colder in 10 seconds. Magnet doesnt stick either. Help please!
