Latin Grammys to Air on Univision till 2018

The Latin GRAMMY Awards telecast is one of Univision's most watched events, ranking as its highest-rated special. Last year's 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY telecast was watched by 11.1 million viewers in the U.S. who tuned in to all or part of the live three-hour broadcast on the Univision Network.
Today, The Latin Recording Academy and Univision announced a new six-year deal that will keep the biggest night in Latin music on Univision through 2018.
Univision has been the home of the Latin GRAMMYs since 2005. This year's XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place live on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
"For the past seven years, the Latin GRAMMYs and Univision have consistently collaborated to bring viewers unique and dynamic musical performances from today's talented Latin musicians from around the world," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. "We are extremely proud of our consistent growth, which is reflected in the success we have achieved, and we look forward to the next six years of our expanding partnership."
Cesar Conde, President of Univision Networks, added to the announcement by saying, "Through this agreement, Univision will continue to elevate the first-class Latin GRAMMY experience that Hispanic Americans look forward to every year like only Univision can deliver."
In addition to the annual awards telecast, the six-year agreement also includes the development of new Latin GRAMMY specials, details of which will be announced in the future.
