Amanda Bynes and her pink hair pose for her 2012 mug shot Amanda Bynes was busted around 3 a.m. Friday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol. It all went down after the actress was driving in West Hollywood and after attempting to pass a police car, sideswiped the cruiser instead. The fender ...
David Liebe Hart worked on Tim & Eric's Awesome Show Great Job for five years so it wasn't surprising that he was asked to take part in Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. He told StarCam at the film's premiere how grateful he was for the opportunity.
He also talked about how his church was responsible for his acting career.
"I was lucky that I had famous acting teachers in the Christian Science Church that encouraged me to go on," David explained. "They told me God is my agent, success is my agent, and when you rule your mind you rule your world."
He did a public access show for his church called the Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson Show, which taught kids to stay in school and say no to drugs.
David dished that John C. Reilly was one of the funniest people he's worked with, not only on the Tim & Eric series and movie, but also on Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule. Season two of the show is currently airing on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
With the end of One Tree Hill just hours away, we wanted to go back and highlight some of the most memorable characters from the nine seasons that had us crying, yelling at the TV, laughing out loud and calling our friends with for one of those, “OMG, did you see that?” moments. Here are some of our favorites!
Lucas Scott
There is no way we could possibly start without Lucas Scott, played by Chad Michael Murray. He was the one that the storyline began with and that male lead that seemed to always have a good heart, well minus his medical condition. Lucas was the character you rooted for and there were a lot of people who thought that the show hit its end when he went off the show, but it held on without him. We were definitely thankful for his brief return in Season 9 though!
Peyton Sawyer
You didn’t always agree with what Peyton (Hilarie Burton) decided to do, but she was a character that was insanely relatable through all of the seasons she was in. She was popular, but held on to and embraced her own unique identity. Peyton was a tough cookie, but she had a great heart. Even in the moments when she was being a little crazy or stomping on toes to get what she wanted, which was usually Lucas, she never gave up. She fought through whatever she needed to in order to make her dreams come true, ultimately starting her own label and marrying the guy she’d loved since high school!
Brooke Davis
Brooke (Sophia Bush) was a hot mess for a lot of high school. She made mistakes, but she owned them which is pretty awesome. Her confidence, gumption and style made her lovable. Like all of the other characters, there were moments when you probably threw your remote control and maybe cussed at the TV because she needs to fall down a few times to figure things out, but she turned into one of the show’s best characters. Her role in the most recent seasons as a mom, a wife, an entrepreneur and a friend have transformed her into the type of woman that a lot of viewers aspire to be.
It would be out of the ordinary if Dancing with the Stars didn’t have a little bit of drama, romance and frustration going on this season. There is definitely all of the above! The judges said the first week that this is by far the best season yet and I couldn’t agree more. The celebrities are all very talented and seem to have a solid understanding of how to dominate the dance floor in just the first three weeks of the competition. It’s definitely hard to say who’s likely to claim the mirror ball trophy when there’s so much talent being showcased each week. If you missed this week’s shows, here’s a bit of a recap for you!
Jack Wagner danced the samba with his partner Ann Trebunskaya and while there was a lot of feeling evoked in his dance he fell short. Despite his solid score of 24, he was sent home Tuesday night.
The next couple to take the floor was Maria Menounos and Derek Hough. This is where the drama begins. The danced a beautifully sensual rumba to “Material Girl” that has everyone wondering if the chemistry they displayed was good acting or genuine passion. They shared a steamy kiss that wowed Bruno and left Carrie Ann utterly speechless. The couple scored an impressive 27 out of 30!
Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus danced the foxtrot and did alright. The judges were impressed by the grace she showed during the dance and seemed pretty impressed with her progress. She scored a 24. Next up was Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower with a samba that was really well done. Roshon showed some true Michael Jackson style dancing to “I Want You Back.” The judges gave them a 25 for their performance.
Singer Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff performed with a rumba that showed major improvement and potential. The judges were pleased with and Bruno said that he hoped to see him perform again next week! This duo scored a 24 as well. Leaders Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas performed a waltz next, which was truly beautiful and left many people in the audience, and the judging area, in tears. With a nearly perfect performance, Katherine and Mark earned the first 10s of the season scoring a 29! I don’t think there has ever been a season of DWTS that has seen 10s so early on!
Sherri Shepherd and Val Chmerkovskiy did a decent jive to The performance was definitely one of the weaker of the night, but the judges saw something special in it that I must have missed from my view on the couch because she earned a 24. I have to say that I don’t think her number was even close to comparable with Gladys Knight or Gavin DeGraw’s, but what do I know!
Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy also scored a 24, which again I don’t think was just. They danced very well together. The performance had a great emotional touch to it and Melissa’s story behind choosing the “Dog Days Are Over” to dance to was definitely inspirational. They are proving to be solid contenders despite their low placement on the leader board.
The next duo is where the rest of the drama, frustration and anger comes in. Jaleel White, known for his role as Steve Urkel on Family Matters, is showing some major temper troubles. There have been reports about violence in his relationship with his girlfriend and he definitely doesn’t hold his tongue or aggression back from his partner Kym Johnson. Their dance was good, scoring them a 25, but their disagreements could get in the way of their success. It’s much more enjoyable to watch a couple that gets along well and motivates each other than a couple that fights and bickers.
Lifting the spirits and the heart rates of pretty much everyone in the ballroom were William Levy and Cheryl Burke. This duo has gotten lots of attention because, well, William is a pretty sexy dancer! They shook things up with a salsa that left tongues tied and jaws dropped. They scored a 28, also earning a 10 for their hard work! I think William finally losing his shirt definitely swayed Bruno’s vote though!
Last up was Donald Driver with his partner Peta Murgatroyd, who danced to “One Sweet Day” in memory of his best friend who died in his arms. The dance was beautiful and left Donald unable to speak. There were a lot of tears in the ballroom this week, but this was definitely one of the most moving numbers. They scored a 26 that there’s no doubt his best friend would have been proud of.
Tune in next Monday night at 8 p.m. to see who will be dominating the leader board and who will be heading home next! Oh, and just in case you missed it; here's the steamy rumba that Maria Menounos and Derek Hough performed!
It feels like months that I’ve been dreading the series finale of a show that I’ve become far too emotionally invested in over the course of nine tumultuous seasons. One Tree Hill was one of those shows that I had to see each week and never minded watching reruns. I’ve probably seen each episode more than a handful of times and they still never fail to get to me. There’s a point that you start to feel like you know all the characters involved.
For this reason, I’m not ashamed to admit that if they are usually laughing on screen I’m probably laughing on my couch and if they’re crying, well, chances are there’s an empty tissue box nearby. I was scared for the way that creator Mark Schwahn would leave things, but after watching the finale I don’t think he could have done a better job bringing everything full circle.
The 2-hour finale appropriately started with an hour of behind-the-scenes footage of the filming process, interviews with the characters and explanations for certain epic twists in the plot over the last nine years. They took us back to where it all began, to the school shooting, to Nathan and Haley’s vow renewal, Sawyer’s birth and all of the other pieces of Tree Hill history that shocked us, melted our hearts or both! We got to see each character wrap their final scenes and hear Sophia Bush, who played Brooke Davis, tearfully say her goodbyes. It was after the crew said goodbye that we got to hear how the story ends.
Throughout the whole episode scenes flashed to Tric’s 10th anniversary bash which appropriately featured performances by Chris Keller, Haley James Scott and Gavin DeGraw. Gavin sang some new stuff, but appropriately closed things out with “I Don’t Want To Be.” The camera panned around the venue showing all our favorite cast members singing along. There were definitely tears in the finale and I’m sure many in homes around the country!
Though Clay and Quinn have only been involved in the plot for a few seasons, it would be impossible to say we cared less about how their story ends. The couple had been through a lot. In just this season alone Clay developed a crazy sleepwalking disorder and had to check himself in for therapy. Come to find out, he wasn’t a psycho or a drug addict; he was a father who had just fought to repress his own son’s memory after his wife’s death. Ending the season with Quinn and Clay getting married in the courthouse with little Logan by their side and then signing adoption papers was the perfect ending. Hearing him call them mom and dad and watching them transform from a really complicated situation into a perfect little family left everyone with piece of mind and probably a lot of tears (happy ones of course!).
Nothing crazy or outlandish happened to Nathan and Haley, but that worked well. We saw them essentially pass the torch of their past on to Jamie, which was better than any alternative. Haley showed him where the hopes and dreams box she kept with Lucas was and Nathan told him he could be anything he wanted to be; that he didn’t need to be an athlete. Fortunately for him and everyone else, Jamie wanted to be just like his dad. Showing Jamie writing the dream of beating his dad’s records and then flashing to the future to show Midnight Madness and Jamie’s jersey mounted on the wall for accomplishing his goal was perfect. We also saw a married and pregnant Millie with Mouth, Skills and Bevin back together, Brooke and Julian happy still with Baker Man up and running and Karen’s Café still in operation! The flash forward was a fantastic way to bring things full circle.
One of the best little tidbits was when Mouth received a check from Dan Scott with a note that said “What you do matters.” Even in his death Dan still had some surprises up his sleeve! With that money, Mouth started the Edwards/Scott Memorial Scholarship Program in memory of Keith and Jimmy and he announced it on his Sports show, leaving Millie to host the morning show with Skills. The three of them make a pretty good team!
Not only does Julian recreate the gang’s history in a TV series, but he also buys Brooke her high school home. She had always said that house deserved a good family and she finally had that. Julian may be a bit of a girly-man, but he’s thoughtful and his gestures, sometimes a little bizarre, are always cute and meaningful. He adds a nice balance to the shows super athletic males.
In the end, the group stayed in Tree Hill and became more than friends. They were each other’s family. There weren’t any big questions left unanswered or any mysterious conclusions that deny you full closure. This was a clean break for all of us who have grown up watching the show. What did you think?
