"The Carrie Diaries": New Series Based on "Sex and the City" Coming to the CW this Fall

There are very few, if any, women out there who haven’t caught at least one episode of Sex and the City. The peek inside the life of Carrie Bradshaw’s efforts to find love, happiness and success in Manhattan with her three best gal pals is dramatic with some laughter and tears tossed in along the way. Well, there’s no doubt that the show had some “mature” content. The CW is toning it down a notch and taking a look at what Carrie was like in her younger years when being a successful writer was just a dream. The Carrie Diaries premieres this fall and picks up when the well-known journalist was just a high school senior!
Annasophia Robb will be starring in the series set in the ‘80s. The concept came from the books written by Candace Bushnell. The series will resemble Sex and the City but is meant to pull a younger audience and be a bit more PG. One thing will definitely stay consistent though; the crazy, colorful and distracting wardrobe!
Annasophia said she’s already received a letter from Sarah Jessica Parker, who offered words of wisdom and encouragement to the 18-year-old actress. This new show comes after the CW loses one of its biggest draws: One Tree Hill. The show is just wrapping up its ninth and final season.
