Actress Devon Aoki and her husband stopped to talk to StarCam?s Aiden Simko at the UCLA IoES Event. You may have seen Devon on the big screen in Sin City and 2 Fast 2 Furious . She and her husband were attending the event to support their friends, higher education, and of course, going green.
Aiden asked them what they were currently doing to help Mother Nature out. ?We are going to do an audit of our house to measure water and all other types of output and really take that in and make some changes,? James stated.
In addition to lowering their energy waste they are installing some solar panels. ?So hopefully we can generate some energy from the sun,? said Devon.
In their day to day lives they both said they always recycle, but they stopped short at ?cloth diapers? for their little ones! They both talk further about the ?little things?, like carpooling, making a big difference if everyone does them.

Extra entertainment reporter Jerry Penacoli was happy to attend the UCLA IoES Event, supporting the environment. StarCam?s Aiden Simko chatted with him about the work the organization has done to help spur green environmental efforts.
?This is an important organization because of the research it does for the environment. Not just coastal waters, but tropical rain forests, bio-diverse animals, species, and everything for the greater good of conservation and protecting our environment ? so what?s better than that?? he stated.
He tells Aiden about his hybrid car, his home?s eco-friendly well and irrigation system, and how doing good things for the environment helps your wallet too.

The Office premiered on NBC seven years ago, and it didn’t take long for viewers to fall for Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam, and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin crew. However, as the series approaches the end of its eighth season, it seems increasingly likely that the gang won’t return for another.
First, there’s the problem of casting. James Spader, the actor who plays CEO Robert California, isn’t returning next year, while pivotal cast members John Krasinski (Jim), Ed Helms (Andy), Jenna Fischer (Pam) and B.J. Novak (Ryan) are reportedly “stalled” in their contact renegotiations with NBC. Mindy Kalig (Kelly) plans to write and star in her own Fox sitcom, while Paul Lieberstein (Toby Flenderson) is stepping down as executive producer to help out with an Office spinoff called The Farm, set at Dwight Schrute’s beet farm. If the spinoff is a go, one can only assume Rainn Wilson (Dwight) will step down from The Office as well. That’s a lot of obstacles.
The series’ storyline is also a problem. Steve Carell is gone, so there are no more wacky Michael antics. Pam and Jim are married with two kids. Dwight and Angela ended their torrid love affair (though it appears she bore his son). James Spader is leaving so there will be no more Robert California cameos. The series doesn’t have that many places to go unless it follows the romance between Andy and Erin and maybe Darrell and the warehouse girl. But really, how many tumultuous office romances can one take? Even if NBC can retain most of their actors should the series even go on? Or should they bow out gracefully before things get too stale and sad? What do you think?

While April 30th is Father's Day in Germany, Teacher's Day in Paraguay, and Children's Day in Mexico, now it will also be known as International Jazz Day all over the world thanks to Herbie Hancock. The renowned jazz pianist and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador chose the date because it's the last day of Jazz Appreciation Month.
"I'm really excited about International Jazz Day because so many artists from various countries and genres have a connection to jazz and will be able to honor this music that has had a profound effect on them," Herbie said.
"I hope that this day spreads the joy of spontaneous creation that exists in this music," he continued. "My feeling is that jazz will be getting its just due."
The official kick-off will be on April 27th with an all-day program at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris that will include master classes, round table discussions, improvisational workshops and performances by artists from various countries. An evening concert will feature Herbie, Dee Dee Bridgewater, South Africa's Hugh Masekela and Brazil's Tania Maria, among others.
April 30th celebrations will begin with Herbie performing in a sunrise concert at New Orleans' Congo Square, the birthplace of jazz, which will take place right after the first weekend of the city's huge Jazz and Heritage Festival. Plus, he plans to perform his funky standard "Watermelon Man" with high school students from around the world via the internet!
Then Herbie will fly to New York for a sunset all-star jazz concert for the international diplomatic corps at the U.N. General Assembly Hall to be hosted by Morgan Freeman, Robert DeNiro, Michael Douglas and Quincy Jones. The concert will be streamed live via the U.N. and UNESCO websites.
"This is really about the international diplomatic aspect of jazz and how it has throughout a major part of its history been a major force in bringing people of various countries and cultures together," Herbie said.
Here's the man himself gettin' funky with "Watermelon Man."
