Those of us who are on the edge of our seats waiting for the Arrested Development return won't have to wait too much longer, according to Netflix. The company confirmed that the fourth season of the show will premiere sometime in May. Rejoice!
Netflix's content chief, Ted Sarandos confirmed the news today, but we'll still have to wait a little longer to find out the exact date. Still, it's a huge improvement from not knowing anything, right? Right.
There will be fourteen episodes of the upcoming season, and all will be released at the same time—anyone in for a Sunday Bluth Marathon? Us too. We love the idea of not having to wait a week between episodes, but we also fear that we'll burn through the new content in a single day. Still—everyone knows Arrested Development episodes are best when watched the second or third time.
News broke recently, however, that the new season of AD won't feature every cast member in every episode. The fourth season focuses on each character from the end of season three up until present day, which will then lead into the movie. The show's creator, Mitch Hurwitz, said that each episode will focus on a specific character, and since each episode will only concern itself with one character, "you don't see them all together until you see the movie," he said. Sigh. The movie is meant to be a "second act" to the fourth season.
While there's no trailer for the new season yet, Netflix did announce that Eli Roth's new horror series, Hemlock Grove, will premiere on April 19th, and they released a trailer for that show.
