?Dexter? Season 6 to Begin Shooting; Casting Call for New Characters

Dexter Season 6 Casting Call

The next season of Dexter is about to start filming, and Michael C. Hall will be stepping back into his serial-killin’ shoes. The new season will begin filming sometime this month around Los Angeles.

Production is expected to be underway by the end of May, for a September premiere. A casting call has been issued for a few of the recurring roles that will appear over the course of the season. I guess these could be a little bit spoiler-y, but not really, since they're just character descriptions. Still, if you want to be totally surprised, stop reading now!

The first character needing an actor is “Jamie”: described as an outgoing and fun Latina in her mid-20s, this Florida native relocates to Miami for grad school.

Also new this season will be “Chicago Mike”: a new thirty-something African-American homicide detective who possesses a finely-tuned “BS detector.” The Windy City native does not play well with Dexter or others… Does this remind anyone of Season 1’s Doakes?? Just me?

Finally, there’s “Louis” – a buddy of Masuka’s (C.S. Lee) who joins the Miami Metro Police Department as a new lab intern. The role calls for a Caucasian actor in his 30s who is “attractive in his own way.”

Think you’ve got what it takes to step into any of those roles? I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t wait for the next season. After season 5’s strange story arc that featured Julia Stiles, I’ve been on the edge of my seat wanting to know what’s going to happen next.

Who The Hell Is Naming Their Baby After A Teen Mom?

The Social Security Administration released their annual list of the most popular baby names in the country and the top 10 has pretty much remained unchanged from last year. Jacob and Isabella continue to reign at the top followed by Ethan, Sophia, Michael, Emma, Jayden, Olivia, William, Ava, Alexander, Emily, Noah, Abigail, Daniel, Madison, Aiden, Chloe, Anthony and Mia.

That reads like the roll call list of every private pre-school in the Boston area. This list also confirms that I will once again suffer through dozens of whiplash accidents after some ho screams out "MICHAEL!!!" to her brat in the grocery store. You'd think that by now I'd only respond to my adopted first name of HO and my adopted last name of ORE, but I can't help it. It's a tick. If you ever want to fuck some shit up, just shout "MICHAEL!!!" into a crowd and watch a wave of dumb ass Michaels crack their neck bones from whipping around. It can be your new favorite sport.

The SSA also released the names that jumped the furthest up the list. These are names that are usually popular in pop culture. That list is as follows:

Girls:
1. Maci
2. Giuliana
3. Tiana
4. Quinn
5. Adalynn

Boys
1. Bentley
2. Kellan
3. Knox
4. Enzo
5. Karter

Maci is the name of one of MTV's Teen Moms and Bentley is her son's name. Kellan is probably popular because of human muscle Kellan Lutz and Knox of course is one of Brangelina's chosen twins. Lauren Wattenberg, an expert on baby names, predicts that 2011 will see even more lop-headed hos naming their babies after reality stars. Lauren put it like this to MSNBC: "This will be the year people pay attention to the effect that reality TV has on baby names. A pregnant teenager is America's top name-style maven. We like names that feel familiar, but we don't actually know anybody with that name. Familiar but fresh."

I'm really not one to bitch since if I had a kid I'd name them Cristal Nomi, but Showgirls is the most important cinematic experience ever produced and Teen Mom is merely one of MTV's crotch berries that will pop in a few months and disappear forever. But you know what won't disappear? The tragic fact that you named your baby after one of those whores!

But I am not losing complete faith in our people. There are no signs of Snooki on the list and I'm just going to tell myself that people named their child Bentley after Bentley from The Jeffersons and not after a baby from Teen Mom.

Is Lady Gaga?s ?Judas? a Commercial Flop?

lady gaga judas

Up until now, Lady Gaga has more or less dominated the pop charts with her music. Her videos are so intensely anticipated that blogs everywhere update the second the videos come out – sometimes before via leaking them. But, with her latest single, “Judas,” that doesn’t seem to be the case.

The video is set to premiere on Thursday, May 5, and for the first time, it doesn’t seem like there’s as much hype as there was for videos like “Telephone” or “Alejandro.”

“Judas” opened at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after just three days of being released, but slipped to #12 after its first full week out, despite growth in radio airplay. Now, less than three weeks later, “Judas” is resting at #18 on iTunes’ sales chart – for perspective, her previous single, “Born This Way” is currently sitting pretty at #16.

The music video released tomorrow will feature Gaga playing the role of Mary Magdalene and actor Norman Reedus as Judas. It was directed by Lady Gaga herself and her choreographer Laurieann Gibson. Gibson says of the video for “Judas,” “Ultimately, it’s a story about oppression; a story about following your heart and the glory of being free.”

Do you like Lady Gaga’s new single? I may be the only one, and this may be a controversial statement, but I’m kind of getting tired of Gaga’s antics, and “Judas” just isn’t that catchy to me. Check out the track:
