Roles In "The Dark Knight Rises" Announced for Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard
Finally Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard’s roles in The Dark Knight Rises have been announced. The announcement comes after months of speculation as to which roles the two would be taking on.
Originally it was thought that Gordon-Levitt would be cast as Albert Marcone, son of the Gotham crime boss. Warner Bros has announced he will be playing beat cop, John Blake, assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon, instead of the son of a crime boss.
Another actress rumored to have been part of the cast is Oscar winner Marion Cotillard. She will play Miranda Tate. Tate is a “Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still grieving Bruce Wayne resume his philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.” according to the Warner Bros. press release.
Rounding out the cast for the conclusion of the Dark Knight Legend will be three time Batman Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane.
This is the third and final Batman movie to be directed by Christopher Nolan. The movie is a screenplay Nolan wrote with his brother Jonathan Nolan, based on a story writtten by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan. Nolan will also produce the film with his producing partner, Emma Thomas and Charles Roven.
