The Photoshop Awards: Jessica Simpson In New York Magazine

With her head on Lady Gaga's body, and Lady Bunny's wig on her head, Jessica Simpson poses for New York Magazine and talks about her $1 billion dollar fashion empire (?I never thought I?d be some fashion mogul!") and her gold digging fiance ("He has so many books. Like, just books and books and books and books."). But I'm focusing more on the tumbleweed of Barbie ponytails on her head. If that isn't a FUCK YOU to Ken Paves disguised as an obese wig, then I don't what is. Jessica stopped fluttering around Ken's fruit bowl when she picked up a gold digger and now she does this to him?

Ken can't even touch a piece of blonde weave without shedding a single tear while thinking about how he would laugh when Jessica would come back from the bathroom and tell him that the health department is going to put an F over his door because of the rotten shit she dropped in his toilet (awwwww). And then he chokes up when he remembers the time Jessica asked him if weave pieces were baby wigs (awww, the sequel). Jessica knew what she was doing when she put that mop on her head. New York Magazine put that wig on her head to make her ass look smaller, but they made her cold-hearted bitch gene look bigger while doing so. Well, played...actually.

Oscar Nominees Cheat Sheet: Best Actress

We’ve already gone over the nominees for Best Picture and Best Actor, so now let’s have a look at the nominees for this year’s Best Actress Oscar.

First up is Annette Bening for her role in The Kids Are All Right. She plays Nic. Nic and Jules (played by Julianne Moore) are in a long term, commited, loving, but by no means perfect relationship. They have two teenaged children, each of them the biological mother to one of them (Nic is Joni’s bio-mom, Jules is Laser’s bio-mom). The kids are half-siblings, and when Joni is 18 and Laser is 15, the two try to find their sperm donor father. The tagline for the film states that “Nic and Jules had the perfect family, until they met the man who made it all possible.” I’ll let you figure out what that means. Bening has been nominated three times before this year for Oscars, both as Best Actress and as Best Supporting actress, but so far has not won the golden statue. Here's a clip of the film that includes some interviews with the cast.

Nicole Kidman is nominated for her role in Rabbit Hole. The film is based on a play by David Lindsay-Abaire, and tells the story of a couple’s life turned upside down after their young son dies in an accident. Nicole Kidman stars as Becca opposite Aaron Eckhart. She won the Best Actress Oscar in 2003 for her role in The Hours, and has also been nominated one other time for Moulin Rouge. Check out this trailer for the film.

Also nominated for Best Actress is Jennifer Lawrence, for starring in Winter’s Bone. Lawrence plays Ree in a film about an Ozark Mountain girl who works her way through the process of finding her drug-dealer father while trying to keep her family intact. While Winter’s Bone is nominated for four Oscars this year, this is Lawrence’s first nomination, which, as you probably know, makes me think she won’t win. Here's the trailer for Winter's Bone:

Natalie Portman is nominated for her role as Nina Sayers in Black Swan. She plays a ballerina whose life is completely consumed with dance. She lives wither her obsessive, controlling, former-ballerina mother. The film features Mila Kunis as the “black swan” to Portman’s “white swan,” and as the two dancers expand their rivalry for the role of both swans into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side. This film is on my want-to-see-it list. This is Portman’s first nomination for Best Actress, but she was nominated in 2005 for Best Supporting Actress for Crash. In these clips, Portman discusses her role in Black Swan and gives a quick interview to StarCam at the No Strings Attached premiere.

Finally, Michelle Williams is nominated for Blue Valentine. The film centers on a married couple and charts their evolution over a span of years. Williams plays Cindy to Ryan Gosling’s Dean. The two have a daughter named Frankie, and though the tagline for the film is simply, “A love story,” the story is not necessarily all rainbows and happiness for the couple. Instead, “a love story,” refers to the very-realistic growing apart of many couples, and the changes that occur in that sort of relationship. This is Williams’ first nomination for Best Actress; she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 2006 for Brokeback Mountain. Here's the trailer for Blue Valentine.

So, that brings us to my prediction for who will win the golden statue. In my book, Jennifer Lawrence is out, simply because this is her first time being nominated for an Oscar. Annette Bening would have a good shot, but since IMDB classifies her film as a comedy, I don’t know about that. Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams have the same track record as far as nominations, but I think Black Swan got much more attention than Blue Valentine (especially if you don’t count the will-it-or-won’t-it-be-NC17 fiasco surrounding Valentine). So, it’s between Portman and Kidman. I haven’t seen either film, but if I had to guess, I’d pick Natalie Portman to win Best Actress.

Blake Lively Brightens Up the ELLE Style Awards

Overseas for a fashionable evening, Blake Lively turned up for the 2011 Elle Style Awards in London, England on Monday (February 14).

Brightening up the Grand Connaught Rooms, the "Gossip Girl" actress donned a colorful blue frock as she readied for the brand's annual awards ceremony to get underway.

Aside from hitting the Elle Style Awards, it was recently revealed that Blake has had a style of shoe named after her by famous designer Christian Louboutin.

Reports tell that the 'Blake' footwear is a "high-heeled sandal features seven straps in a rainbow of different colors, each fastened with a button. The heel and sides are black patent, while the sole, of course, is pillar-box red."

Of meeting Louboutin while filming her CW show in Paris, Lively told, "I went to [Louboutin's] atelier and I was walking around, like every shoe here is so beautiful and I saw this one pair and I said 'I've never seen anything like it.'"

How Celebrities Get a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

This evening, COPS creator John Langley will be the 2,432nd person to receive a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. However, like the selection of Oscar winners few people know how the Walk of Fame honorees are selected.

The first step to receiving a Walk of Fame star is to be nominated. Anyone can nominate a celebrity for the honor, as long as the star agrees to the nomination and agrees to appear at the Star’s unveiling ceremony, if selected. Not everyone finds these terms agreeable. Clint Eastwood and Julia Roberts declined to be nominated, while George Clooney and John Denver refused the mandatory appearance.  Fans can also nominate a star after his or her death, but not until at least five years have passed.

There are currently five categories in which an entertainer can be nominated: motion pictures, television, recording (music), radio, and theatre (though the selection committee has been creative in their interpretation of these categories). To be eligible, a nominee must have at least five years experience in his or her category, plus a history of charitable contributions. Someone, usually the nominating party (fan club, film studio, etc.), must also agree to pay the $30,000 construction fee, if selected, as well as general maintenance costs.

Each year, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Selection Committee receives approximately 200 nominations and selects 12-15 performers based on the nominees’ industry achievements and agreement to the terms listed above. Until 1999, the identities of committee members were closely guarded, but have since been revealed to battle charges of “back room politics.”

The Walk of Fame recipients for 2011 are:

Motion Pictures: Penelope Cruz, Bruce Dern, Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, Ed Harris, The Muppets, Kenny Ortega, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ridley Scott, Sissy Spacek, Donald Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon.

Television: Danny DeVito, Tina Fey, Simon Fuller, Neil Patrick Harris, John Langley, Ed O’Neill, John Wells, and Oprah Winfrey.

Recording: Melissa Etheridge, Los Tigres Del Norte, Rascal Flatts, Go-Go’s, Slash, Will i. Am, and Bebe & Cece Winans.

Live Performance/Theatre: Joe Mantegna

Posthumous: Buddy Holly and Louis Prima
