The cast members on Glee aren’t just great singers and dancers; they’re also a super socially-involved, charitable bunch. Each of the cast members has given time and funds to a range of charitable organizations. The group even has their own charity, Glee Give a Note, an arts education foundation which has given millions to schools. Some of the cool stuff the group has been up to:
Amber Riley has acted as a spokesperson for Do Something and the Save the Music Foundation. She also started a PSA campaign on social media to keep music education in schools.
Darren Criss is also an extremely active philanthropist. He’s a spokesperson for Democracy Day. He’s a frequent participant in events for The Trevor Project. He’s performed at charity benefits for organizations that range from AIDS and cancer charities to Toys for Tots. Check out what he had to say about being an out gay role model:
Lea Michele has been active with a number of LGBT Rights and animal welfare organizations. She performed as Janet Weiss in a charity production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show benefiting The Painted Turtle, a camp for critically ill children.
Dianna Agron is a vegetarian and spokesperson for PETA. And, in 2012, she raised over $26,000 in a birthday fundraiser for The Trevor Project.
Chris Colfer has done work for the American Foundation for Equal Rights, and donated adorable doodles to Penny Sprague for Labrador Rescuers fundraising event.
Kevin McHale has contributed to Shane’s Inspiration, an organization which works against prejudice towards kids with disabilities, and is also active with The Trevor Foundation.
This Friday, three members of the Glee cast will continue their charitable works by performing at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Rising Stars Gala. Lea Michele, Darren Criss and Amber Riley will all take the stage to honor people who have made an outstanding contribution to the community in Los Angeles.
Last year, we talked to Jane Lynch about her commitment to the arts in public schools. Click below to hear what she had to say:

Hundreds of thousands of people have been told to evacuate, an 11-foot wall of water is supposed to crash into Manhattan and millions of people are furiously searching the Internet while they still can for ways to make a satellite dish and TV out of tin foil and fish bones (because they can't miss American Horror Story on Wednesday night, DUH), but Lindsay Lohan wants everyone to stop bitching and crying about Hurricane Sally Jessy Raphael. (Don't hate Blohan for not remembering Sandy's name. You know how bad crackheads are at remembering anything.)
Right before LiLo, whose brain was destroyed a long time ago by Hurricane Cokey, begged Lady CaCa to pay attention to her, she told all of her followers to stop being so dramatic and use positive thinking to ward the hurricane away. I can see it now. There's LiLo, wasted out of her mind, sitting on her living room floor and rambling to the walls about how we can make the storm go away if we just THINK it away.
Hurricane Sandy is obviously a coked up, drunk mess herself, and Lindsay Lohan is made up entirely of vodka and coke granules, so can't we just tie her to the top of the Empire State Building as an offering to the storm? That's me thinking positively.
(Thanks to Deb and Jardley for sending this mess in)

David Leisure, the actor who played Charley Dietz the man whore slut of Miami on Empty Nest!
Empty Nest was not only a spin-off of the most important television show in the history of television, Golden Girls, but the characters were sort of kind of the same. Dr. Weston was the Dorothy (actually, I'm still not convinced that Dr. Weston wasn't played by Bea Arthur in man drag), Barbara was the Sophia, Carol was the Rose and Charley Dietz was the Blanche (if you sucked all the charisma and tang out of Blanche and replaced it with the ability to annoy every trick in a 100 foot radius). Those who majored in Golden Girls and minored in Empty Nest in college can correct me, but I'm pretty sure Charley Dietz worked as a pilot (but Wiki says he worked on a cruise ship) and he put more miles on his peen than he did on the planes he flew (or the ships he cruised on).
Charley's job was to be the town man whore and to regularly annoy the pubes off of Dr. Weston's daughters Carol and Barbara. Charley was scuzzier than dick cheese and more irritating than a cold sore on your anus, but my love for sluts is unconditional, so he was always my second (next to Laverne) favorite character.
David Leisure also used his gift of annoying the shit out of people to sell Isuzus.
I HATED Joe Isuzu. To this day, I refuse to give a handy in an Isuzu* because of Joe Isuzu.
* That's a lie.
