Alana Stewart on Cancer Research & the Farrah Fawcett Foundation

Alana Stewart is the president of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, so she works very closely with a lot of organizations that research cancer and raise money for the cause. She talked with StarCam?s Jennifer Tapiero about her experience with the John Wayne Cancer Institute.

?For the last few years I?ve worked very closely with a lot of doctors and a lot of institutions and organizations doing cancer research,? she explained. ?I?m just so in awe of all of the things going on. There?s so much wonderful research going on and I feel that we?re really closer and closer to a cure?Unfortunately it?s too late for Farrah, but her legacy will always live on in the foundation.?

Farrah Fawcett died in June of 2009 of anal cancer. She was diagnosed in 2006, received treatment and shortly after a clean bill of health, but it came back. She tried experimental treatments, but ultimately she lost her battle against the disease. Alana helped Farrah document her fight against cancer called A Wing & a Prayer: Farrah?s Fight For Her Life.
