AFI Names Best Movies and TV Shows of 2012

The American Film Institute is known for its influence when it comes to the judging of which movies are important to see—their lists have been television specials in the past, even. Now, they've announced their picks for this year's best movies and TV shows. It's a list they do every year, and this year's list comes both with expected choices as well as a few curveballs.
AFI president and CEO Bob Gazzale said in a statement about the list, "AFI Awards celebrates America's storytellers as collaborators. We are honored to bring together artists as a community, without competition, to acknowledge the gifts they have given the world in 2012."
There will be a ceremony in Los Angeles on January 11, 2013, to hand out the awards.
Have you seen any or all of the lists? What do you think about their choices? Let us know in the comments.
