"Old World Charm Meets New World Style and Technology" is the theme of this year's Big Game Big Give event where hundreds of celebrities will gather Saturday for dinner, drinks, fundraising, and philanthropy.
Director Michael Bay will host the soiree for the second time and celebrities expected to attend include Adam Sandler, Ashton Kutcher, Chris Rock, David Spade, Demi Moore, Marshall Faulk, Russell Simmons, and others.
When Michael hosted the event at his Miami Beach home in 2010, ESPN named it "#1 Party of Super Bowl XLIV" so he has a reputation to live up to this year in New Orleans and it already sounds like it will be quite a bash.
Taking place at the historic Smith House on St. Charles Avenue, the event will feature some of the most extraordinary items in the world. There will be a Lamborghini display, celebrating the company’s first 50 years; rare antiques, fine art, and one-of-a-kind jewelry from M.S. Rau Antiques; a Cohiba Cigar Lounge; and live and silent auctions.
The event also supports The Giving Back Fund, the premier resource for sports and entertainment philanthropy since 1997. Some proceeds from the evening will also benefit former New Orleans Saints’ star Steve Gleason and the Team Gleason House for Innovative Living.
Steve was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) two years ago and his non-profit organization helps raise awareness about the brain disease. This week, they are celebrating the opening of a new facility at St. Margaret’s Skilled Nursing Center in New Orleans.

The Super Bowl has an attraction that draws even those who aren’t football fans. No, we’re not talking about Super Bowl party snacks. We’re talking about the clever commercials created for the biggest viewing event of the year.
Major studios got in on the action with trailers for highly anticipated films. The four films featured during the game this year:
The online version of the Super Bowl Iron Man 3 trailer starts with a laugh by going literal with the “extended look” tagline, but gets pretty heavy pretty quick. Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark performs a daring mid-air rescue. We catch a look at the villain and also see the destruction of Stark Tower and the Iron Man suits.
Iron Man 3 hits theaters May 3rd.
The makers of Oz the Great and Powerful went for a shorter sneak peek that skims on story to focus on the action. From the look of the trailer, the effects are going to be incredible; spectacular looking while still preserving the feel of the 1939 classic.
Oz the Great and Powerful premieres March 8th.
JJ Abrams is playing it close to the vest with his upcoming Star Trek sequel. The new trailer does not tell us much that we don’t already know: Benedict Cumberbatch plays an omnipotent evil character bent on world destruction while Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk tries to stop him. But, we get a few more glimpses of the world that these characters will inhabit – scenes show forests, cliffs, and a futuristic city.
Star Trek Into Darkness premieres May 17th. Fans who can't wait can get a temporary fix of Star Trek stars at the Star Trek & Sci-Fi Summit Februrary 15 to 17.
Vin Diesel and Dwayne Nelson return to the series for its sixth installment. This time, the action will include planes, armored cars and tanks as the good guys and the bad guys do high speed battle at locations around the world.
Fast and Furious 6 hits theaters May 24th.
