Ashton Kutcher Will Join "Two and A Half Men"

Well, Hugh Grant has walked away from talks with CBS about joining their hit show, Two and A Half Men, over creative differences. Within hours, insiders reported that Ashton Kutcher would be replacing Charlie Sheen as the star in a newly created role.

Signing the actor will breathe new life into the hit series after the trouble it has had with season eight.  Producers have been looking for ways to salvage the program after firing Charlie Sheen in March.

As part of the deal Kutcher will reportedly be paid $1 million per episode.  It is unclear if that includes any share of profits from re-runs.  It is essentially a done deal, but it isn’t clear that it has been signed yet.  Neither CBS nor Warner Bros. has commented on the agreement.

Kutcher’s agent has not commented but Kutcher tweeted “what’s the square root of 6.25” referencing the number in the title of Two and A Half Men.

Sources close to the deal describe the addition of Kutcher as a “home run”.  He is young and has previous experience with situational comedies.   He has also starred in several romantic comedies.

There has been no word as to what his role will be or how they will resolve the absence of Charlie Harper.
