Brad Pitt Debuts Furniture Collection
It's a headline we never thought we'd write, since the last thing we think of when we think of Brad Pitt is "Man, that sure is a nice table." That said, Brad Pitt has partnered with Frank Pollaro and will debut a collection of a dozen pieces of furniture on November 13.
The pair collaborated on 12 pieces, including tables, chairs, and a bed with a hardwood frame that took two years to make. Pollaro is a furniture maker based in New Jersey.
The furniture will be unveiled in New York, and the customizable designs will be available "in numbered editions or limited production and signed by Pitt and Pollaro."
Pollaro wouldn't disclose exact prices for the pieces, but did note that his prices are "typically at the highest end of the custom-furnishings scale, and these will be up there, even north of that."
In other words, it is some expensive-as-hell furniture.
Pitt said of the designs, "I've been doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright...It forever changed my life."
Pitt, in addition to designing furniture, also collects it and works alongside architects to rebuild homes in New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward.
The two men came together a few years ago after Pollaro noticed Pitt's sketches while installing a desk that Pitt had commissioned. "I asked him, 'Why don't we make some of this stuff real?' Brad said he thought that could be fun," Pollaro said.
