Bradley Cooper To Star In "The Words"

Word has it that Bradley Cooper has signed on to star in The Words a drama written and directed by writers Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, the same pair to write Tron Legacy

Wednesday night, Variety reported that Cooper, who starred in the 2001-2006 series Alias and 2009’s The Hangover will play the lead role. Jeremy Irons is in talks to co-star.

The main character, played by Cooper, is a writer who finds, at the peak of success, that there are consequences for stealing the work of others. 

Lisa Wilson’s Parlay Films, an affiliate of GK Films, is pre-selling the project in Berlin at the European Film Market.

The film will be produced by financer Michael Benaroya (Margin Call) along with Animus Films’ James Young (Homecoming) and Serena Films’ Tatiana Kelly. Young and Kelly are also producing Decoding Annie Parker

The executive producers are Laura Rister and Cassian Elswes. They previously worked with Benaroya on Margin Call as executive producers.

Filmula's Johnny Lin is in talks to co-finance and could take a producing credit as well.

Margin Call also featured Irons as John Tuld.

Klugman and Sternthal are currently working on the development of a sci-fi franchise for Blacklight Transmedia and Imagine Entertainment.
