March 25, 2012 "Bully": Movie Documenting the Peer-to-Peer Bullying in Schools Around America Edit Delete Tags Autopost An R-rated movie is hitting theaters next week, but unlike most with that restriction this film should be seen by kids everywhere. The documentary called Bully came into development after a high school boy named Tyler killed himself because of the cruel treatment he received at school. His parents complained and did everything within their power to try to rectify the situation and give their son the ability to make it through the tough days, but it was out of their control. They found him dead in his room. Director Lee Hirsch reached out to the family and though it was such a short time after they lost their son, the Long’s decided that if their words and efforts could save just one life; it’d be worth it. The couple and their son and daughter appeared on The Ellen Show recently to tell people more about the film that addresses peer-to-peer bullying in schools across the country and share their personal story. The documentary is something that every kid out there should see. Not just because it has a message for the people who are doing the bullying, but also because it aims to give hope to the children and teens who are suffering through rough days at school right now. The bottom line is that bullying is a severe reality. No one benefits from it. The mean kids build themselves up by breaking other people down and the ones being picked on lose any chance at self-esteem. Where is the good in this? Who is gaining something positive? Those bullies will likely grow up to realize that they were terrible people, or they’ll be put in their place by someone tougher than they are. People need to stop competing for control in every aspect of life and enjoy the moments they’re here instead. If everyone could just grasp and hold onto that concept; the world would be a much happier, safer place. Spread the word and support the cause. Bully hits theaters Friday, March 30.Source: http://blog.starcam.com/post/Bully-Documentary-Released-Next-Week.aspxKanye West Christina Aguilera James Franco
