Charlie Sheen Files $100 Million Lawsuit Against Warner Bros., Chuck Lorre

Will the insanity every end? Charlie Sheen has just filed a lawsuit against both Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre for $100 million plus punitive damages.

He is demanding not only that he get paid for the eight episodes of Two and a Half Men that were supposed to be filmed, but also demanding that the rest of the cast and crew get paid for them as well.

Marty Singer, Sheen’s lawyer, wrote in the lawsuit that “Chuck Lorre, one of the richest men in television who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of the popular television series, 'Two and a Half Men,' in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre's own conduct."

Singer goes on to blame the cancellation of the successful television show on “Warner Bros. capitulating to Lorre’s egotistical desire to punish Mr. Sheen…” He also claims there was some sort of conspiracy between Lorre and Warner Bros. to blame Sheen for the cancellation of the show.

The lawsuit points out that Warner Bros. decided to renegotiate Sheen’s contract when the actor was facing felony charges for allegedly assaulting then-wife, Brooke Mueller. During that time they thought the actor may be out of work and in prison. In this case, Sheen was sick when he was fired, which is a violation of several laws.

A major part of the suit is that Sheen is requesting payment for his fellow cast and crew. “Charlie Sheen is not only seeking payment of his own compensation for the Series, but he is also pursuing claims for the benefit of the entire cast and crew to get paid for the balance of the season’s 24 episodes.”

Perhaps this is a ploy to get back in the good graces of the cast and crew for putting them out of work. What do you think?
