Comedy Central Renews "Tosh.0" for 30-Episode Fifth Season

It turns out asking an audience if it would be funny if a heckler got gang-raped isn't enough to keep a mediocre comedian off the air, as Comedy Central announced today it was renewing Daniel Tosh's Tosh.0 show for a fifth season of 30 episodes.
The season will premiere in January 2013, and will undoubtedly attract plenty of viewers, but we have to wonder what a comedian has to do in order for his or her network to say "Enough is enough" and stop rewarding the sort of speech that Daniel Tosh spewed at that now infamous show.
Comedy Central's head of original programming and production, Kent Alterman, joked, "Despite the fact that Tosh.0 has more viewers than any other show on our network, and that Daniel has totaly catalyzed his fans online, we still convinced ourselves to pick up the show for another season."
The fourth season premiered to 3.1 million viewers, which set records in male demographics (interestingly, though unsurprisingly, the show broke no records with the female demographic). It currently holds a 4.1 rating for men 18-34 years old, and 4.6 for 18-24 (so essentially, the younger you are, the dumber of show you like).
Tosh responded to the renewal, saying, "It's hard for me to get excited about anything when the Miami Dolphins look so terrible."
The fourth season is currently on a break (what is it with networks doing these split seasons, anyway?) and will return next week on Tuesday, September 25.
