Crystal Bowersox on the Quilt Her "Village Idiots" Made For Her

Crystal Bowersox, American Idol runner up from Season 9, was one of the performers at JDRF's 9th Annual "Finding A Cure: The Love Story Gala" and she stopped to chat with StarCam's Jen Tapiero about her new album, her fan club, and more.

"I feel really good about this year," she began. "I'm busy recording my next album. I've been spending some time in Santa Fe which is like Zen world. I'm releasing an EP of five pre-Idol recordings because I felt it was important to share that with my fans."

Speaking of her fans, Crystal said there's a group of them who sent her one of the most heartfelt gifts she ever received.

"I have a group of fans who have dubbed themselves The Village Idiots and they made me this quilt," she said. "It's giant. It's hanging in my house. Everyone made a little patch, all different fans from all over the world."

Has she been watching American Idol? While she has been keeping up with which contestants make it through each week, she admits she can't actually watch the show.

"I don't watch any television honestly because it affects me emotionally," she said. "I cry at commercials."
