Donald Trump Is Considering a Presidential Bid

It seems as though celebrities running for political office has been a successful trend.
Jesse Ventura, an actor, radio and television talk show host, and professional wrestler, was elected as Minnesota State Governor and held office from 1999 to 2003. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austrian-American bodybuilder and actor, was elected as California State Governor and held office from 2003 to 2011.
Donald Trump, one of America’s most successful businessmen and star of The Apprentice, is now playing around with the idea of running for president.
Trump has reportedly been telling his friends and advisors that he is considering a presidential bid for 2012. He also made an unexpected appearance at the Conservative Action Political Conference in Washington, D.C. with other potential candidates in the race.
During his speech he said that he has not yet decided whether he will seek the Republican nomination, though he offered harsh words on the state he feels this country is in.
“This country is in serious trouble,” he said, adding that the U.S. “is becoming the laughingstock of the world.”
If anyone doubts his ability to run the country, think again. He made the case for his presidential run by highlighting his business and entrepreneurial background.
“America is missing quality leadership. I am well acquainted with winning… We need a competitive person. We need a highly competent person or we’re going to have serious trouble very quickly.”
Trump promised to make a final decision by June.
In the meantime, the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice will premier March 6 on NBC. This season’s cast will include Meatloaf, David Cassidy, and Latoya Jackson.
