G.W. Bailey & Michael Paul Chan Talk About the Importance of Character Actors

G.W. Bailey and Michael Paul Chan came out to the Classic Film Festival Cabaret Premiere and stopped by to chat with StarCam on the red carpet. They filled us in on why character actors are so essential in TV shows and movies!

?The show we?re on we just finished, The Closer, there?s no way that show could have been successful without Kyra Sedgewick. No way. She was a star. She was a great star of that show. She was the engine of that show, but you?re looking at the rest of the car,? said G.W. Bailey. ?You?re looking at the steering wheel and the tires and the other guys are gas, backseats and they?re carburetors. Now, she?s the engine. You can?t turn it on without her, but it ain?t goin? nowhere without us!?

Michael added that though many people dream of being the star of movies and sitcoms, he always wanted to be a character actor. That was actually his goal. He likes being responsible for the shift in energy and getting the ball rolling on set.

Both stars are also fans of classic films. G.W. Bailey said that not only was he pumped to see Cabaret, but he also had plans to see Chinatown that very weekend!
