Hugh Jackman Honored with Hollywood Star

Australian native and Les Misérables star Hugh Jackman was honored Thursday (December 13) with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 44-year-old actor thanked his fans who have long campaigned for his inclusion on Hollywood’s iconic Walk.

“This is a surreal experience,” Jackman said at the star’s unveiling ceremony. “I have so many people to thank. I have the greatest fans in the world and I don’t take it lightly or for granted. Thank you so much for what you do.”

Jackman’s star, the 2,487th to grace the iconic Walk of Fame, is installed at 6931 Hollywood Boulevard, directly in front of Madame Tussauds Hollywood. Jay Leno attended the star’s unveiling ceremony, as did Jackman’s Les Misérables co-stars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried. Also starring Russell Crowe, Les Misérables is slated for wide-release on December 25, 2012.

“Hugh is one of the world’s most popular actors and we are excited that he is joining our Walk of Fame family,” Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement.

An Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor, Jackman's impressive filmography includes the X-Men film series, as well as Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, The Prestige, Australia, and Real Steel. Fans can next catch Hugh in next year’s The Wolverine and Movie 43.

Congratulations, Hugh!
