Katy Perry's New Tune Appears to Slam Russell Brand Big Time!

When a relationship ends it is typically best to avoid any unnecessary confrontations and to just let things run their course, but one celebrity took a different approach at the Grammy Awards. Katy Perry has kept a pretty low profile since Russell Brand filed for a divorce at the beginning of the year, but on Sunday she was ready to step out and make a statement.

For starters, Katy Perry looked awesome last night during her performance. She rocked a silver/gold skin-tight bodysuit that might have made Brand reconsider his divorce request if she hadn’t been singing a new tune that tears her ex-hubby to shreds.

The track is a song of empowerment that tells the story of then vs. now, and whether or not it’s the case, she definitely wants Brand and the world to think that she won’t be broken by him again. All of the lyrics seemed to be the tale of a girl who falls deeply in love only to realize she’s been left to drown, but she’s not going to sit back and take it anymore.

“This is the part of me that you’re never gonna ever take away from me. Throw your sticks and stones. Throw your bombs and your blows, but you’re not gonna break my soul,” she sang.

Though the song has its sad parts, it definitely ends on a positive note. It sounds like Perry was able to find some confidence in herself and realize that she’s above the pain that she may have gone through in the unfortunately broken relationship.

“Now look at me, I'm sparkling; A firework, a dancing flame. You won't ever put me out again. I'm glowing. You can keep the dog from me. I never liked him anyway. In fact, you can keep everything; except for me.”

So, what do you think? Was Katy Perry brave for getting on that stage and throwing her heartfelt lyrics in front of the world or was this immature?
