Lady Gaga Admits Drugs Help Her Writing

Recently Lady Gaga was featured on the news magazine 60 Minutes where she sat down with Anderson Cooper in a pre-recorded segment.
She has always been a bit, how shall we say, eccentric. She is not one to avoid controversy, often times creating it herself. It's no surprise then that the diva did not shy away from it for the sake of the show either. She openly discussed how drugs play a part in her creative process.
“I smoke a lot of pot when I write music,” she told Cooper.
“I’m not gonna, like, sugar coat it for 60 Minutes, that, you know, I’m some, like, sober human being, ‘cause I’m not. I drink a lot of whiskey and I smoke weed when I write.”
“I don’t do it a lot because it’s not good for my voice.”
She insisted her admission was not about advocating drug use but was just about being honest.
“I don’t want to encourage kids to do drugs,” she said. “What artists do wrong is they lie. And I don’t lie. I’m not a liar. I built good will with my fans. They know who I am. And I’m just like them in so many ways.”
For Cooper it was probably one of the better memorable interviews. He claims that the Grammy-winner took him drinking after a day of interviews.
“We actually ended up that day in a pub in London drinking Jameson, which I don’t really drink. So she got me to drink like two of them, and by the end I was ready to have the interview be over because I really sort of couldn’t ask any more questions,” he told The Insider last year.
