Mark Wahlberg, Rhea Durham on their Involvement with The Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children
As a member of The Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, actor Mark Wahlberg is serious about his faith. Since he and his wife Rhea Durham got involved with The Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children, they were being honored at the organization's event and StarCam's Jennifer Tapiero got to talk with them!
When Jen asked him what people should do when meeting others who are homeless, he replied, "Most importantly communicating with them, letting them know that people actually care about them."
Due to the economy and how hard it is for the unemployed to get back on their feet, he said that he meets a lot of homeless men and women through his church. There is even a bakery across the street from the church that offers jobs to homeless women.
With such a busy schedule, Jen asked him how he makes time to give back.
"I've overcommitted myself," he admitted. "But I promised my wife and my family we need to spend a lot more time together. But there's important things that you need to devote time to, whether it be inner cities kids or the homeless; it's important to try and give back and get involved."
Mark also dished a little bit about his new movie coming out in July called Ted, directed by Seth McFarlane who was actually hosting The Good Shepherd event that night.
