Morrissey Compares Norwegian Shootings to Fast Food Chains

Is it just me, or is Morrissey becoming more and more of a cartoon as the years go by? First, he had something to say about the royal wedding earlier this year, but now it’s worse.
“We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead,” he said at a concert in Waraaw, Poland on Sunday. “Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried S*** every day.”
Really?
The former Smiths frontman has provoked quite the protest following his comment, which he made just before performing his song “Meat is Murder.” His comments have led to condemnation and criticism on plenty of websites and on Twitter.
The singer’s spokeswoman has said, “There is no more to say on the matter, thank you.”
This is not the first time Morrissey’s views on animal rights have caused controversy – in an interview in September, he called the Chinese a “sub-species” over their treatment of animals and attitude toward animal welfare; and in April this year, he voiced displeasure at the idea that Prime Minister David Cameron was a fan of The Smiths, pointing to the idea that the Prime Minister had hunted stag in the past.
“It’s a moral issue. Killing a stag is like killing a child. What’s the difference?” Morrissey said at the time.
Yikes. I think it’s time to stop, Moz.
