NBC to Revive ?Fear Factor?

NBC is reviving the popular reality show Fear Factor and executives promise the reboot will be bigger and better than ever.
“No one has come close to doing what they’ve done on that show,” NBC’s head of alternative programming Paul Telegdy told Entertainment Weekly. “You go back and they’ve stood the test of time. It always had this incredible spectacle to it.”
Telegdy first entertained the idea of reviving Fear Factor after reruns of the show brought in impressive ratings on NBC’s sister cable channel Chiller. The executive met with David Goldberg, CEO and president of Fear Factor producer Endemol USA, and the pair decided to launch a new show with bigger and better stunts and camera work.
“The stunt and camera technologies have evolved since then, we’re going to be able to make it even bigger,” Telegdy said. “We’re going to make it more visually arresting.”
The original Fear Factor, which ran from 2001-2006, featured contestants competing in a series of extreme stunts like swimming with snakes or eating bugs for the chance to win a $50,000 prize.
