New DVD Releases ? April 5, 2011

The sequel to a 1980s classic, a comedy film featuring a star-studded cast, and a shocking film about politics and corruption are just three movies available for your home viewing pleasure. Here are the new DVD releases for April 5.

TRON: Legacy, Tron Classic

A sequel to the 1982 movie Tron (rereleased on DVD today), TRON: Legacy stars Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Michael Sheen. Daft Punk provides the musical score for this science fiction film about a man trapped in a video game. TRON: Legacy was nominated for several industry awards, including an Academy Award for Best Sound Editing.

Little Fockers

Another sequel, Little Fockers follows the popular movies Meet the Parents (2000) and Meet the Fockers (2004). The star-studded cast of the first two films is back for more, a cast which includes Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, Dustin Hoffman, and Barbra Streisand. Little Fockers joins Greg and Pam Focker ten years into their marriage as Greg continues to try to impress his intimidating father in law. Jessica Alba also stars in the movie.

Casino Jack

Casino Jack is the story of Jack Abramoff, a lobbyist and businessman convicted for his involvement in a massive corruption scandal. Kevin Spacey plays Abramoff while Barry Pepper, Kelly Preston, Jon Lovitz, and Rachelle Lefevre also star in the movie directed by the late George Hickenlooper. Spacey received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Casino Jack.

I Love You Phillip Morris

Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor star in this romantic comedy/drama film about Steven Jay Russell, an incarcerated man (Carrey) who falls in love with fellow inmate Phillip Morris (McGregor). Upon Morris’ release, Russell breaks out of jail four times in order to be reunited with his beloved. The film debuted at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and was screened at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival before enjoying a limited release in the United States.
