Ron Burgundy Drops by Conan to Announce "Anchorman" Sequel

Though the chances of an Anchorman sequel were looking grim for awhile, Ron Burgundy of the Action 4 News Team made a surprise appearance on Conan Wednesday night to announce that Anchorman 2 is on the way.

"I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas," Will Ferrell told the audience while in character as Ron Burgundy. "To my friends, in Spain, Turkey, and the U.K., including England ... as of 0900 Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel for Anchorman. It is official, there will be a sequel to Anchorman."

Burgundy entertained the crowd with some terrific flute tunes before dropping the big news, much to the delight of the Conan audience. He also took a few digs at Conan's appearance.

Adam McKay will direct the sequel, while McKay and Ferrell will once again collaborate on the script. Judd Apatow is expected to produce. No word on when Anchorman 2 will come out or who will star in the comedy, though Paul Rudd and Steve Carell have expressed interest in the past.
