Taylor Swift Lends Her Voice to "The Lorax"

Universal and Illumination Entertainment have cast the voices for their new 3D CGI production of Dr. Seuss’s classic story The Lorax. The ensemble cast includes Zac Efron, Betty White, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms and Taylor Swift.
Swift is not new to the big screen. She has already made her acting debut in the rom-com Valentine’s Day with Taylor Lautner, whom she dated briefly after filming.
The story surrounds Ted, a young boy, as he seeks the affections of his ideal girl, Audrey (Swift). Danny DeVito plays the Lorax, a lovable yet grumpy creature who protects the boy’s world. White will voice the boy’s wise grandmother while Helms is the voice of the Once-ler who is never seen in the book.
Most of the team working on the Lorax also lent their animation talents to Illuminations’ Despicable Me, including director Chris Renaud, and writers Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. This is the third feature film from Universal and Illumination Entertainment. They also produced Hop which is scheduled for release on April 1st.
This is the second of Dr. Seuss’s books to be turned into an animated feature length film. The first was Horton Hears a Who. His books Cat in the Hat and How the Grinch Stole Christmas were brought to the screen as live actions comedies.
