TLC's T-Boz Gets Her Own Reality Show

It seems a little...past due, but TLC has given Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins of the once-insanely-popular girl group TLC her own reality show. The focus of the show will be on her goal of jumpstarting her music career (again), this time as a single mother.

Watkins suffered a life-threatening brain tumor but recovered fully from it, so it's likely that the show will deal with that, as well. TLC has ordered four episodes of the show, called (tentatively) Totally T-Boz, and the network is planning on a premiere in early 2013. The show has already begun filming, as well.

Amy Winter, general manager of TLC, said, "Tionne dominated the charts for years, turning the group TLC into a household name, and her personal journey is as fascinating as her professional one. This series will open the door into T-Boz's struggles and successes and the people who are there to support her as she works to make her dreams come true all over again.

Expected guests on the show include her daughter Chase, her brother Kayo, her cousins Barb and Chris, her best friend Tae-Tae, and her business partner Tara. John Doe Media will produce the show.

It's a little odd that TLC is just doing a reality series about her now, since as a group, TLC has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide—we'd think that they may have approached this idea much earlier. Also interesting (did you think we'd forget to point this out?) is that TLC is now the official sponsor of a TLC-related reality show. Think about that one for a second.
