Will Ferrell Shaves Conan O'Brien's Beard
In a well-planned stunt leading up to Will Ferrell’s guest appearance on Conan O’Brien, the actor released a series of video messages threatening to shave Conan O’Brien’s beard. He made good on those threats and shaved off O’Brien’s beard.
Ironically, Ferrell’s appearance was one day after the death of the FBI’s most wanted terrorist. Both O’Brien and Ferrell seized on the headlines.
“Yesterday, we took care of one maniac with a beard. Today, Will Ferrell will take care of another,” tweeted O’Brien.
As Ferrell sat there chatting with O’Brien he said, “There is nothing else going on in this country other than the fervor to shave that beard. I turned on the television last night to see if people were talking about it. There were people celebrating in front of the White House. There were people celebrating in Times Square chanting U.S.A! Shave the beard!”
O’Brien responded, “I’m not sure your heard them correctly.”
Even still, Ferrell was armed with a straight razor and just wanted at the beard. Luckily, for O’Brien, Ferrell had clippers with him. Without a lot of finesse Ferrell proceeded to remove the scraggly beard.
“Do you have any expertise in this?” asked O’Brien?
To which Ferrell responded, “I’ve only shaved dogs before.”
Thankfully there was an experienced barber on hand to fix the carnage left by Ferrell’s comic attempt.
As Ferrell stepped back to assess his handiwork, he said, “I made a terrible mistake.”
