Woody Allen Chooses Star-Studded Cast for Upcoming Film

Woody Allen has begun choosing an eclectic cast of characters for his upcoming film. So far the cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, and Alec Baldwin.
Allen will be writing, directing, and appearing in the film, which is slated to start shooting in Rome this summer. He has yet to reveal a title or a plotline for the film, which is typical Allen style.
Each of the high-profile cast has been busy recently with their own projects.
Eisenberg just released Rio, in which he voices the lead character. This followed his last film, The Social Network, which received both Oscar and Golden Globe nominations and wins.
Page can currently be seen on the big screen in Super alongside Rainn Wilson.
Baldwin, who is currently on hiatus from his starring role in the sitcom 30 Rock, is set to begin filming the musical Rock of Ages soon as well.
This will be the first appearance in an Allen film for the three Actors. Cruz, on the other hand, won an Oscar for her role in Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2008.
Allen’s latest film, Midnight in Paris, will be shown as the opening-night film at the Cannes Film Festival on May 11.
